Nowadays people are more and more conscious with outlook appearance and hygiene. The most important thing is to keep ourselves healthy and strong. That includes having strong and healthy teeth. A smiley face says a lot about a person, and sets up a nice first impression about that person. But the assurance to wear a confident and shinny smile comes from bright shinny teeth and if you are not having them then you can’t get that confident and impressive smile. Having a white a white teeth can mean hygienic and healthy.

Teeth whitening has always been an issue with people seeking success in their social as well as their work life. According to them, it is the cornerstone of looking excellent and having a smart personality. The way we look and feel has a lot of influence on the way we actually conduct ourselves professionally and socially. Teeth whitening can go a long way in building up your confidence levels. Who does not want to have shining white teeth? But this is not always possible due to various reasons.

There are many techniques that you can get your teeth whitened, different toothpastes or chewing gum claim that can help you whiten your teeth. These statements have some truth however they’ll by no means find a way to return your teeth to their original white color. These tooth pastes have additional abrasive materials than the regular tooth pastes and if you brush your teeth regularly with these pastes, it will get your teeth whitened attributable to permanent abrasion damages and subsequent hypersensivity to change of temperature, i.e. cold and hot. As the harsh components in the whitening paste could possibly scale back the quantity of the enamel present in your teeth. Not all of the stain is on the entrance of the teeth, there are stains that brushing simply cannot remove.

The best and one of the most effective teeth whitening way is to use the professional teeth whitening services from a cosmetic dentist. These professional teeth whitening treatments can be of any type like a gel treatment or laser teeth whitening, depending upon the extent of stains on the teeth.

The BriteSmile Professional power whitening consists of a gentle teeth whitening gel activated by special gas plasma light. Unlike traditional teeth whitening methods, with BriteSmile there's no fuss or mess and no gels or trays to take home. All you have to do is sit back and relax while your cosmetic dentist does the rest. BriteSmile offers a convenient, one-hour option for busy individuals who want to enjoy a dazzlingly white smile immediately.

One other broadly used method is teeth whitening at home! You may prefer to whiten at home, and we can help with that, too. Your cosmetic dentist could create custom trays to make home teeth whitening comfortable. Each night for a week or two you'll need to apply our professional-grade teeth whitening gel to the trays, and then wear them at night. Within just a few days, you'll notice a difference, and by the time treatment is complete, you'll smile with confidence. Take-home trays can also touch up and maintain in-office teeth whitening.
Most patients experience dramatic results with either teeth whitening method, though not all discolorations can be lightened with the treatment. Teeth whitening treatments are most successful in removing yellow, brown, or orange tinges incurred from aging, coffee, tea, or smoking. However, dark gray tones from fluorosis, smoking, or tetracycline use may not whiten as dramatically; artificial materials such as porcelains do not whiten at all. Patients with sensitive teeth, periodontal disease, or worn enamel typically do not respond well to whitening.

If you are worried of yellowing teeth and want to keep that bright and dazzling smile of yours for years to come, make sure you follow these few simple advice!

·         Watch what you eat and drink ;  red wine, coffee, tea, cola, berries and fruit juices can stain your teeth the way it can stain any other white substance it comes in contact with. Citrus fruits contain acid that can speed up deterioration of the enamel. Acidic foods like vinegar can open up the pores of the tooth enamel and stain. Sports drinks contain acids  that can break down calcium and may even be more damaging to your teeth than acidic food. You don’t have to avoid all of these food and drinks, but it would help if you immediately rinse your mouth with water.

·         Maintain adequate regular oral hygiene ; Insufficient brushing and flossing can amplify tooth discoloration. It is important to brush and floss regularly to reduce or prevent stains.

·         Have regular Profession cleaning by a dental hygienist ; Regular dental cleaning can  remove external staining of teeth caused by food or tobacco.

Many people are concerned that teeth whitening will damage their tooth enamel and cause permanent teeth sensitivity. On the contrary, teeth whitening cause no damage to your enamel. However, if you have gum disease, gum recession, or your roots are exposed, teeth whitening is not recommended due to causing sensitivity on the roots of the teeth. That is why Preston cosmetic dentist Dr. Kaviani says that is pertinent to have a complete evaluation before starting teeth whitening procedures. Dr. Kaviani does not recommend you use over-the-counter whitening products before you have full assessment and evaluation for root sensitivity and root recessions to avoid further damage.

  1. Due to my work, I always drink coffee to keep me awake and alert. I never knew that it can stain the teeth not until I looked at myself in front of a mirror. My teeth were yellow and it does not look pleasant at all. I had to do something with this since I talk in front of clients all the time. So a friend referred me to a dentist in Jackson who offers teeth whitening services. I'll be heading there next week to have the Jackson, TN dentist make my teeth white again!
