Repair Your Smile with a Preston Dental Crown

Dental crown is the best and the most aesthetic means to protect and reconstruct a damaged tooth!

Do broken, worn, or decayed teeth make you self-conscious when you smile? Dental crowns are caps that resemble the shape and overall appearance of a natural tooth, and are used to cover a natural tooth to improve its function and/or appearance. Dental crowns fit snugly over damaged teeth to enhance their structural integrity. Beautiful, life-like porcelain crowns can give you a whiter, healthier smile that you'll be ecstatic to share.

When dental crowns are cemented into place, they fully enclose the part of the tooth that can be seen at and above the gum line. A dental crown is essentially a new exterior for your teeth.

Dental crowns can help you in the following dental conditions:

  • When a broken or worn tooth needs its appearance and function to be restored, dental crowns can provide a more permanent solution than fillings.
  • Dental crowns can cover a tooth with a large filling, especially if there is very little tooth left to support the whole structure.
  • A cracked tooth, or one that has been weakened by tooth decay, can be saved from further damage by dental porcelain crowns.
  • Dental crowns can also be used to cover a tooth that is badly shaped, or has been severely discolored, to improve the overall appearance of the teeth.
  • To replace missing teeth with dental implants.

Dental Crowns Preston Dental Bridges Cost

Traditionally, people with missing teeth, or structural tooth problems, like fractures or teeth severely damaged by decay, were subject to endless dentist visits and a mouthful of very unnatural looking false teeth. We have advanced the science of crowns and bridges to offer solutions that remedy problems safely and restore a full, attractive, natural smile.

When a tooth is fractured, has a large, old filling, or is severely damaged through decay, we may recommend the placement of a crown, or cap. Dental crowns strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure and can improve the appearance of your smile. Types of crowns include the full porcelain crown, the porcelain-fused-to-metal crown and different variations of these. Crowns surround the entire tooth, unlike a veneer which just covers the visible surface of the tooth. Fitting a crown requires at least two dental visits.

Before crowns, the only real option for a broken down tooth was extraction. Crowns have given dentists, and in turn patients, the ability to fix certain dental situations.

Cavities, or dental decay, occur when acid-forming bacteria in the mouth are supplied with sugars. With these sugars as their food, the bacteria produce acid that eats away at the tooth, creating cavities. Usually, caries can be removed and filled with tooth-colored composite fillings. However once too much of the tooth structure is lost, fillings will no longer suffice and the tooth will need to either be extracted or crowned.

Additional Veneers - Preston Dentists

One of the most common procedures consistently used in a smile makeover is placement of dental veneers. These sophisticated tooth veneers technology allows the cosmetic dentists to create a remarkable appearance change in only two visits, providing patients with an almost instant smile makeovers.

ceramic veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are custom-made to match the contour and color of the patient's teeth. After teeth are prepared, veneers are permanently attached to their front surface with a special adhesive. Once placed in the mouth, porcelain veneers become part of patients' natural teeth structure which doesn’t require any special care.

Attributable to their durability and ease of application, dental veneers are used to correct a variety of cosmetic and/or functional problems. They are often placed over teeth to cover cracks and minor defects, as well as to improve the appearance of teeth that are disproportionately short or rotated or overlapping.

Porcelain veneers are also often used to correct the appearance of crowded and/or misaligned teeth. In addition, veneers can help patients with stained teeth to achieve whiter, brighter smiles. Because porcelain veneers are translucent, they reflect light similarly to natural teeth, which makes patients' smiles look radiant-yet-natural. Dental veneers cost varies depending on the dentist's experience and reputation, materials used, the master ceramists’ fees, and several other factors. According to recent surveys, a single  porcelain veneers typically costs between £600 and £1000.
